Promise Worship

Promise Worship is the English-language worship project on NovelGrooves - a persona that writes simple, singable worship songs in the modern accessible-Christian tradition.

The sound is built for the congregation, not the headphones. Open-chord arrangements, unhurried tempos, melodies that can be picked up on the first chorus and still mean something on the fifth. Reference points obvious: Hillsong's quieter side, Bethel Music's more accessible work, Phil Wickham, Elevation Worship - the tradition of worship songwriting where the goal is a chorus that 200 people can sing at once without anyone needing a lyric sheet by the second verse.

The catalogue moves between two settings. On one side: standalone praise singles, each one built around a single image or attribute - heaven singing along, holy love, light in the night. On the other side: short EPs that sit closer to the liturgical end of worship, with multiple tracks that work together as a small set. The unifying instinct across both sides is the same - write the song the room actually wants to sing, not the song that wants to be admired.
